Quick-Quotes Quill

Quick-Quotes Quill: Quoting Albus Dumbledore (Headmaster of Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizadry).

Here are some quotes taken from J.K. Rowlings, Harry Potter books. I just love Albus Dumbledore. The things he says are sometimes absolutely brilliant. Here are just some of the more notable things he's said, mostly to Harry, in the first five H.P books.

1. It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live

2. It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.

3. Differences of habits and language are nothing at all, if our aims are identical and our hearts are open.

4.Indifference and neglect often do more damage than outright dislike.

5. Youth cannot know how age thinks and feels. But old men are guilty if they forget what it was to be young.

6. Before the banquet, i would like to say a few words. And here they are: Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!
(Heh heh! The man just cracks me up. I couldn't resist including his pre-banquet speech, brilliantly funny)

I'd have to say that that is what I like about the Harry Potter books - that they're deeper than a lot of children's books without be patronizing. It's the sort of thing that it shouldn't be hard to write, but must be, because there aren't so many books like that.
